Cuba Mission Trip – February 8 – 21, 2017
cubaMission – To assist Cuban United Methodist congregations in rebuilding their churches and parsonages; to share experiences with our sisters and brothers in the growing Cuban Methodist church; and to develop an understanding of Cuban culture.  This is an incredibly important time with changing political realities to be in mission to Cuba.  Our team will be taking time to learn about this sensitive time and will be open to experiencing a different culture.

MISSION LOCATION – Camp Canaan, a retreat center located 200 miles east of Havana.  The camp is used by Methodists, as well as other groups and denominations in Cuba.

Cuba_thmbLIVING – We will stay in modest accommodations at the camp.

 TRAVEL – Travel regulations to Cuba are changing rapidly. You will be responsible for the purchase of your own airfare. Information will be provided.

 COSTS – Best estimates at this time are costs of between $2,000 and $2,400 per person. is estimate in- cludes $44 per person per day for housing, food, and transportation while in Cuba, $1,200 to $1,400 round trip airfare to Cuba, a $50 airport departure fee, required insurance of $35 per person, $110 visa fee, and the possible cost of a hotel en route to and from Cuba. Other expenses (not included in the above estimate) might include personal expenses, souvenirs, and overweight luggage charges.


✴ Complete an application form, signed by your Pastor
✴ A medical information form, signed by your Doctor or Physicians’ Assistant

✴ A valid US Passport
✴ A Cuban Visa (obtained with the assistance of UMVIM)
✴ Agree to and sign the UMVIM guidelines established for mission trips to Cuba
✴ Attend team planning meetings
✴ Participate in fund-raising activities to help defray cost of $6,000 gi to host church for construction supplies
